3 Push the needle straight through the bear to the left hip joint area. Pull the thread through, leaving at least a 6- to 8-inch (15- to 20-cm) tail emerging from the right hip joint. (C)

4 Take a deep stitch in the top inside of the left leg where the leg should attach at the hip joint. (D)

5 Put the needle back into the same hole in the left hip joint on the body. (E)

6 Push the needle up through the bear’s body, exiting at the neck where the head will join. (F)

7 Take a deep stitch in the bottom of the bear’s head. This is where it will attach to the body. (G)
